Product Specialist - Telemetry and Technology - Worthing/WFH/Remote

£50,000 to £55,000 plus great benefits, bonuses and opportunities/Based in Worthing, West Sussex/Remote start/WFH.

This role will start out as mainly remote, but will soon move to 2 days per week, so location of the successful person would need to be within a reasonably commutable distance from Worthing, even if just for the 2 days per week.

Product Specialist - Telemetry and Technology Overview:

Our Client is currently going through an exciting IT transformation which will strategically change the way it delivers IT. support and services to its business and end users. Reporting to the Operational Technology and Telemetry Manager the Product Specialist - Telemetry and Technology will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks, working closely with the Telemetry Team, business stakeholders, project managers and other IT groups. To be successful in this role, you will need extensive knowledge of Operational Technology and the software development life cycle.

The successful Product Specialist - Telemetry and Technology will liaise with the Service Delivery and Project Delivery counterparts, to ensure that the applications are supported, and projects are delivered to the highest standards. You will carry out daily system checks and ensure all areas of the system are running correctly. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of IT Service Management toolsets, including Knowledge Base & Configuration Management. An ITIL qualification, at Foundation level or above, would be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities for Product Specialist - Telemetry and Technology Include:

  • Perform database configuration in line with established standards.
  • Identify areas where standards do not exist and produce new guidelines as required.
  • Support transition, BAU and new project implementations aligned with business objectives including IIoT.
  • Implement new releases of existing business application software, capturing end user requirements and configuring, testing and integrating with business systems as necessary.
  • Provide 1st & 2nd line support for business applications under role scope.
  • Incident and problem fault analysis and resolution.
  • Produce specifications and designs for application and its components to meet defined business needs, retaining compatibility with enterprise and solution architectures.
  • Liaise with the integration team to integrate and test components and/or subsystems and their interfaces in order to create operational services.
  • Liaise with IT service desk to facilitate robust service support for new and upgraded application solutions.
  • Provide estimates for scope of works and associated resourcing requirements for project planning purposes.

Product Specialist - Telemetry and Technology experience requirements:

  • Degree in Mathematics or Science subject to a minimum of A-Level is desirable.
  • Qualifications in Computer Science, Database Administration or relevant working experience to a similar level.
  • A valid Driving Licence as the role requires support across three counties.
  • Organised and able to learn continuously in a dynamic and changing environment
  • A strong communicator with a commitment to deliver customer expectations
  • Able to multitask, react and prioritise work effort.

Previous Experience in Any of the Following Would be Desirable:

  • Programming
  • Hardware installation and maintenance
  • PTC Thingworx IIoT platform experience
  • Telecommunications
  • IT networks
  • ITIL Qualification (Foundation minimum) v.4 would be a distinct advantage
