Full Stack Developer - Boston, Massachusetts (flexible on location / hybrid working)

$120,000 to $130,000 plus excellent benefits, bonus & stock options – This role requires infrequent office visits, but you must be willing to travel to Boston

CORE SKILLS to consider for this Full Stack Developer position:

  • Ideally Angular, Typescript and MongoDB, but willing to consider just Mongo or just Angular or Typescript, with some equivalent skills.

A global investment and wealth management technology company seek skilled and experienced Full Stack Developer (Mongo / Angular / Typescript or equivalent), where you will be experienced in all phases of the development life cycle and able to work on multiple high-profile projects simultaneously with a passion to design and develop applications, coordinate with the rest of the team to deliver high quality software products and develop both new applications and improve their existing ones in performance, capability, and reliability.

This position will work as part of a larger development team focused on driving innovation across their enterprise platform and you will:

  • You will write top notch code in multi-tiered multi-threaded environment.
  • Attend sprint meetings with team members to define and analyze development requirements and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
  • Code software changes based on design specifications.
  • Proactively resolve issues in specification that will lead to quality, system performance, or architectural issues in product.
  • Perform thorough unit testing on all relevant platforms as is appropriate for the particular task/project.
  • Demonstrate self-directed and proactive approach to tackling problems and leveraging resources

Responsibilities for the Full Stack Developer (Mongo / Angular / Typescript or equivalent) role:

  • Code software changes based on design specifications. Proactively resolve issues in specification that will lead to quality, system performance, or architectural issues in product.
  • Perform thorough unit testing on all relevant platforms as is appropriate for the particular task/project.
  • Regularly inform manager on progress of project, identifying risks early in the process.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Designers to ensure understanding of business requirements.
  • Demonstrate self-directed and proactive approach to tackling problems and leveraging resources.

Preferred skills required for the Full Stack Developer (Mongo / Angular / Typescript or equivalent) role:

  • 3+ years of experience with REST APIs and Docker. Experience with either Kubernates or Swarm.
  • 3+ years of experience coding in TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Angular, React, Bootstrap and Node.js.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL Server and MongoDB.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of best practices and design patterns for SaaS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and presentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications for the Full Stack Developer (Mongo / Angular / Typescript or equivalent) role:

  • Understanding of microservices architecture and hands-on experience with GraphQL, Swagger and Kafka.
  • Familiar with secure software coding techniques.
  • Experience with 3rd party UI Control tools.
  • Familiar with Agile-Scrum methodology and practices.
  • Recent experience within in the Financial Industry with a focus on portfolio management, trading, or accounting – NOT ESSENTIAL.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related degree.
