Head of Transactional Services
£70,000 - £75,000 + Bonus + Benefits
 
Aila is excited to be exclusively partnered with the UK’s leading operator in its field on the recruitment of a Head of Transactional Services in St Albans on a permanent basis.
 
Our client has an impressive brand reputation with unrivalled growth achievements within its area of specialty and they’re a great business to work for. Private Equity backed and with a £4bn turnover, they operate through over 900 sites nationwide and have recently been recognised in the Sunday Times Top Track 100. They have a hybrid working policy of 3 days in, two out.
 
You will be leading a team of 22 in total, split into separate teams, covering AP, AR and bank reconciliations. The Recs team look after c.£1bn in transactions across 900+ sites annually, and the AP team process c.£400m in invoices.
 
We are looking for someone who will be able to successfully co-ordinate workload to achieve complimentary and competing deadlines, reconcile high volume and high value debtors, cash flows and creditors, ensure that processes are scalable with the expansion of the business, resolve queries raised by the Network and to raise the levels of financial competence in the network, and confidently lead a large high-performing team.
 
Key responsibilities:
 

• Ensure all bank accounts reconciled efficiently and timely, cash receipts and payments are allocated on Sales Ledgers and that balances on the debtors’ ledgers are in line with expected cash inflow
• Assist with cash flow management
• Suggest improvements to further develop the systems and processes
• Lead a high performing, motivated team that can process large volumes accurately and efficiently
• Take lead on projects as required by the Finance Director
• Manage all cash receipts and payments that are allocated on creditors ledgers
• Ensure all payments are made by AP team within terms and that the remaining open balances are reconciled to supplier statements
• Lead the response to audit demands that are complex and high volume
• Take an active role in the provision of operational management information

 
To be successful in this role, you will have 8+ years’ experience leading high volume, complex processing teams. You will have a good understanding of the trading account process, accounting reconciliation techniques and an analytical mind. You must have strong communication skills and natural leadership skills, with experience managing and motivating large teams.
