Assistant Financial Controller
£60,000 - £65,000 + Benefits

Aila is pleased to announce that we’re in another exclusive partnership with a rapidly expanding and fast-paced FinTech business in Central London, on the recruitment of a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA Accountant on a permanent basis. This is an exciting role that will report into the Group Financial Controller and support the CFO on an ad-hoc basis, in what is an extremely varied and exciting Assistant FC opportunity. Having already recruited the Group FC at the beginning of the year, we’re looking to add another Accountant into an already impressive finance team.

Our client has a typical start-up nature about it, with a modern and relaxed culture that will allow you to develop and progress with them in a mature and supportive way. They have plans are to grow rapidly in the next 12 months and will be seeking VC funding to support them on further ambitious growth plans. They have four avenues they generate revenue from, and you will be the Assistant Financial Controller, looking after all of them in the UK and internationally, alongside the Group FC.

The Assistant FC will look after everything from month end management accounting, leading on the audit process and taking control of weekly cash flow reporting for the Group FC & CFO, freeing them up to get more involved in future funding and the growth strategy, although you will get to experience this too.

Key Responsibilities:

• Entity Controller for 3 UK Entities and 2 international subsidiaries
• Group Controller for 2 Groups
• Preparation of Monthly Management accounts in a timely and accurate manner
• Weekly cash flow reporting and analysis for CFO and CEO
• Day to day accounting and updating on XERO
• Monthly Group/Entity/Divisional budget v actual reporting
• Managing the audit process of 2 subsidiaries and the statutory accounts and filing for all other entities
• Maintaining a good relationship with external advisors
• Improve the current financial processes and controls
• Client balance reconciliations
• Monthly payroll processing for 4 entities
• Support the CFO in setting up and integrating international entities
• Other ad-hoc reporting as directed by the CFO
• Preparation of daily P&L reconciliations

To be successful in this role, you will be an ambitious and energetic Qualified Accountant with the drive and determination to be a part of an exciting journey, who is comfortable in leading from the front and implementing automation and improvements within a startup environment.
