Aila is partnered with the UK division of a global manufacturing company in Luton, engaged to recruit a Finance Director into the team on a permanent basis. Our client has an international presence with more than 4,000 employees and a Group turnover of c.€700m. They’re a long-established business that works within the medical profession and have offered life improvement products for over 60 years.
 
This role is a senior leadership position of their £100m UK division, reporting into the UK Managing Director with a dotted line into the Global CFO. They have a high performing finance team and excellent working culture, as well as offering excellent benefits and bonus.
 
As UK Finance Director, you will provide a comprehensive accounting and management reporting service, providing strong and focused leadership of the financial and management accounting function. Leading a team of 30 in finance, you will own the development of your team and be a trusted advisor to the Global CFO.
 
We’re looking for an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant capable of partnering with an executive team, previous experience in managing a high performing team with exceptional technical accounting skills.
 
This role could suit somebody operating at Controller level, looking to step up into a Finance Director position. You must have strong business partnering experience and comfortability around stakeholder management across a global business.
 
This role is 50% hands on business-as-usual accounting and management duties, and 50% strategic and visionary, partnering with the UK MD and supporting the growth of the company.  
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Business and financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management and reporting, including management and development of policies, systems, processes and personnel
  • Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to the senior management team
  • Leading on the annual budgeting process and tracking key performance indicators
  • Produce timely, accurate and reconciled financial and management reports that meet the legal requirements with clear commentary that reflects the state of the business
  • Presenting financial reports and analysis to executives, board members and investors
  • Assessing and evaluating key drivers of the business with the goal of helping the company improve its performance
  • Ownership and clear understanding of all Fixed Assets accounting
  • Overall working capital management, reporting and actions
  • Review and improve internal controls, with ownership of the internal audit requirements
  • Oversee all tax and regulatory compliances including VAT and the annual Tax Pack
  • Meet all statutory requirements for the financial and legal management of the organisation
  • Liaise with external bodies, such as banks, auditors and lawyers
  • Operating in close cooperation with the Global Finance team, representing the company as required in subsidiary organisations
  • Leading and developing a team of finance professionals covering billing and collections, accounts payable, financial control and financial planning & analysis
  • Providing leadership, decision making and advice for all finance related decision making
  • Implementing policies, procedures and controls to ensure regulatory compliance and sustainable business growth
 
To be successful in this role, you will be a Qualified finance leader with the ability to work effectively against demanding targets in a complex, multi-disciplined environment. You will naturally have excellent communication and business partnering skills with the ability to work comfortably within a complex manufacturing environment.
