We are recruiting for a finalist level or qualified, ACCA/CIMA Accountant with experience in a varied month end finance role, or somebody that’s looking to make their first move out of a medium sized practice and into industry in a challenging, varied and progressive finance position.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a key role within the business and has the responsibility for running the daily operations of the Finance department as well as accounting for other UK companies within the group. This role will be instrumental in reviewing and implementing new Finance processes in liaison with other departments and ensuring accurate and timely accounting occurs. You will have a strong technical background, be committed to continuously developing the role and have a passion for developing a small team.

We’re looking for somebody that has strong month end exposure, either within a management accounting or financial accounting role. You will be confident with balance sheet recs, journals, accruals and prepayments and will be comfortable taking lead with EY for the yearly audit.
You will be a confident and assuring individual with excellent communication skills, a good level of Excel and the comfortability of working within a technical and varied accounting role that has exposure to Board level.
Key Responsibilities: - Ensuring accurate and timely completion of the Statutory Accounts and maintaining the banking/funding relationships
- Take ownership and responsibility of the Fixed Assets ledger
- Ensure monthly management accounts are closed and submitted for CFO approval
- Identification and accounting of Prepayments
- Preparation and submission of VAT Returns
- Taking lead and managing relationships with auditors for the companys External Audit
- Responsible for the UK cashflow forecasting and management
- Looking after a small transactional finance team with responsibility for management and development
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function and ensure control
- Ensure the accounts receivable department is running efficiently, and cash control is managed
To be successful in this role, you will be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified or Finalist level Accountant that is comfortable working on your own initiative with excellent communication and attention to detail.
