Let’s face it there are different ways to manage. If you’re the type of manager who likes to muck in with the troops and get their hands dirty, then this could be right up your street.

As the Operations Manager you’ll be responsible for the management, support, motivation and development of all direct reports and via Shift Supervision, Team Leaders, material preparation, process technicians, production operators, 2nd operations, warehouse and logistics.

You’ll also be supporting the General Manager with specific focus on the performance of all elements within the plant, it’s systems and procedures, ensuring that they are regularly reviewed and deliver safe, efficient and audit ready operations at all times. Sustaining year on year performance improvements against key metrics.

Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for the operations financial performance with involvement in the budgeting process and capital expenditure justifications as required.

You’ll need to have strong hands-on leadership experience and a background in the manufacturing/production industry. All of this will be underpinned by a relevant Operations Management qualification or equivalent experience. If you have an Engineering qualification as well this would be extremely beneficial.

There is also a need for sound knowledge of ERP systems and QA processes. You’ll be assisting in maintaining ISO 9001/14001/45001 accreditation, so previous exposure to this would be very beneficial.
