We’re partnering with a global brand who specialise in the food manufacturing sector. Newly Weds Foods have a rich history in bringing customised and innovative products to supermarkets and homes across the world.

They are now looking for an IT Helpdesk Support Technician to join them at their location in Banbury.

As the sole IT expert on site, you will be responsible for maintaining the successful day to day operation of the IT systems, by ensuring problem resolution of internal information systems, together with the provision of technical hardware and software support to staff.

Your technical skills will need to be second to none here, with a particular focus on Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems including; Active Directory, GPO, DNS and DHCP.

You will need to have knowledge of networking, covering switching and wireless technologies. Additionally, you will need experience of IOS Device Support, including using remote platform tools.

It would also be very beneficial if you had a relevant IT based qualification to support your experience; degree, CompTIA and/or Microsoft certifications.

There are other personal characteristics that go without saying, but we’ll mention them anyway. You’ll be a clear communicator with great attention to detail. Furthermore, you’ll be able to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced and pressurised environment. A patient demeanour is a must as you are going to be regularly dealing with staff who are not IT experts.

So, what does the day to day look like?

Well, as Helpdesk roles dictate you will be taking inbound calls from employees across the site to assist in the resolution of hardware and software issues. These calls will need to be logged, monitored and dealt with in a timely manner.

You won’t just be sat behind a desk either. You will regularly need to don your safety boots and hard hat and get out on to the factory floor to assist staff with IT related matters.

As the site runs 24/7 you will be required to provide out of hours support on a rota basis. There will also be the need to travel to some of the other UK sites on occasion, so a full UK driving licence is needed.

Okay, so what do you get for all this?

You’ll get a salary of £33,000 to £39,000 DOE. There are also a variety of bonus and incentive schemes, which will prove very lucrative, not to mention numerous other perks including social events.
